i started my adderall again, after not taking it for a couple months.
new pill color and size, supposedly the same thing repackaged.
i'm having the same ol adjustment issues, but surprisingly i'm way exhausted at the end of the day.
my head feels like it wants to pop around 5pm and it doesn't go away until i'm asleep. hard to catch those Zzzs too.
maybe it's not enough food, sleep, etc. but i feel wasted.
just wanted to share and maybe someone has some advice.
i'm sure i'll get used to it eventually...again, but this really sucks...a lot.

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Sat, August 9, 2008 - 12:01 AMAdderall is a stimulant and has many of the same effects on your body as adrenaline. If you ran a marathon, you'd crash at the end of the day. To a lesser extent your body on adderall is doing the same thing, for the same reasons. My best advice is for you to share your concerns with your doctor.

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Sat, August 9, 2008 - 6:58 AMMake sure you are eating a high protein diet (meat) and make sure you get sleep, somehow ... adderall won't do shit if you aren't rested ... and drink a lot of water ... and I've had to completely quit drinking coffee recently as it clashes too much with the adderall and i'm an anxious frantic mess otherwise...blood pressure sky high and everything ...I feel better even if I crave a cup of hot steaming java some days ... I have replaced it with more exercise/yoga which helps ... -

Sat, August 9, 2008 - 10:50 AMYOU quit coffee? I'm impressed. -

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Sat, August 9, 2008 - 10:59 AMyes , no jokin ... it wasnt easy at first of course ... just putting hot steamy liquid into your mouth seems to be 1/2 of the addiction ... I had some yerba mate today ... which does have caffeine in it but much less than java ... i shouldnt have even had that though ...

Sat, August 9, 2008 - 7:47 PMand exercise is really helpful. Kinda like uncreasing all those veins and arteries, and allowing your circulation to flow smoothly.

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Mon, August 11, 2008 - 7:31 AMyes sleep is the #1 factor in sanity and mental well-being, I have realized ...
gotta get it ... sleep when you can if you have a weird schedule or patterns ...

Mon, August 11, 2008 - 5:14 PMI know the feeling of mixing the two.. Some days I still feel like I did drink some.. But I've come to realize either I didnt eat enough or I need to drink more fluids. Then it'll help balance it off

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Wed, October 22, 2008 - 2:06 AMI take a real low dose of Trazadone at night which gets me to sleep, it's an anti-depressant so it doesn't leave that druggy-hung-over feeling like a sleeping pill. -
-
Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Wed, October 22, 2008 - 10:06 AMHmmm, when I next have a doctor to talk to I'll have to ask about Trazadone. Sounds interesting considering I can't take anything else.
Do you take anything else TouchRosesAhna?

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Wed, October 22, 2008 - 10:52 AMI take 4 trazadones before bed. Until I started taking it, I have always had a chronic problem with insomnia. -

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Sat, October 25, 2008 - 3:51 PMI'm taking one other anti-depressant called Lexapro and I have Xanax if I need it for anxiety. Sometimes just a half of Xanax will take the edge off the Adderall if I want coffee too. :)

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Tue, December 2, 2008 - 1:13 PMI assume you are taking extended release. I have switched to the generic (cheaper and doesnt come in XR both are a good thing) since have had more control over my serum levels.
It only lasts about 3 to 4 hours at a time, but sometime I just want to be myself and I only have to be on it part of the day. You can even control what part of the day you need it, hell you can even just take a half of you dose if you want to get you through that task and still get to bed and sleep.
Being jacked into an aderall ride all day with no way to get off is a thing of the past for me.
I just have alarms set on my watch for my next dosage if needed.
XR was supposed to be an advancement in medication, but I think its a step back. Its more for grade school kids who cant remember when to administer, or for teachers not wanting to be responible for giving little kids pills during class time.
Im telling you switch to the generic amphedimine salts, you will have more control over your life. . . and sleep! -

Re: the ADDerall...hurtin fierce
Tue, December 2, 2008 - 3:34 PMXR fukz with me too much - have more anxiety and just weird bizarre feelings ... switched to IR 6 mos . ago and don't regret it - as the other person said - you can control it more and predict moreso what it's going to do and when ...
costs less too whether you have good med. coverage not ...
there's no generic for XR but IR, there are ...
