Is this an ADD thing? My boyfriend was recently diagnosed, and over the many years I've known him, he will spout out bizarre things sometimes during an argument-often wildy exaggerated or sounding insane. The next day they are seemingly forgotten or if I bring something up that he said, he denies saying it at all. At first I thought he was doing a Gaslight on me, but now I don't think so.
I just read Dr. Mate's book "Scattered" and I know about the blurting things out and the hypersensitivity to perceived rejection (boy do I know THAT), but these odd ass statements that boyfriend utters are too effing weird for words.

Re: Bizarre arguments that are quickly forgotten?
Sat, October 6, 2007 - 1:57 PMYes - to a degree. If they happen more during high stress situations (like arguments) than ADD is probably the majority of the problem, otherwise keep looking.

Re: Bizarre arguments that are quickly forgotten?
Sun, October 21, 2007 - 12:02 AMBoth me and my boss have ADD except he is hype and indecisive..Unfortunately last week when we were at a multimedia presentation and and the projector wasn't set up, he was at his worst with interpersonal skills and decisions. He kept yelling at me and making the wrong decisions without letting me do my thing. Of course he forgot all of this, I didn't because as a victim of his raft, it is embedded permanently into my brain cells. -
